Here are some "Kodak Moments" of Las Trampas troops
Troop 1757 earns the Horse Badge
Troop 1757 completed the requirements for the Horse Badge! They went to Castle
Rock Arabian’s in Walnut Creek. Nancy DuPont set up the two sessions
for us and the girls had a blast. In the first session they learned about how
to be safe around a horse, how to groom them, what foods they eat, how to mount and dismount and many fun facts about horses. In their second session, they were in the ring learning how to ride a horse. If your troop hasn’t completed this badge, we strongly recommend giving Castle
Rock Arabian’s a try.

Troop 452 Helps Kickoff STREET
SMARTS
After school on Wednesday, September 8, members
of Senior Girl Scout Troop 452 participated in the kickoff for a new campaign which will soon “hit the streets”
of our community. The STREET SMARTS program focuses on improving safety on our local streets by changing attitudes and behavior.
It utilizes the 3 E’s: Education, Engineering, and Enforcement.
For Troop 452, leading the group of distinguished
guests in singing “America
the Beautiful” at the kickoff on September 8th is only the beginning. They plan on helping with further strategies,
which include full color banners, media messages, school fliers, and children’s activities to reinforce the importance
of being “street smart” drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians. Troop 452 urges you to follow simple but powerful
messages throughout our community to be STREET SMART.
Helping Foster Children Enjoy the Holidays

Troop 452, a Cadette/Senior Troop, helped with a holiday
party for 150 foster children sponsored by the Crossroads Association. The foster children ranged in ages, from babies
to older teenagers. Some were from group homes and others attended the party with their foster family. All enjoyed
the party activities: a magician show, crafts, singing, make-up station, face painting, and a holiday toss game. Pizza
and holiday cookies were also served. Troop 452 enjoyed connecting with several of the foster children and hope to do
more service like this in the future.
A Banner Year for Troop 860

Brownie Troop 860 marked their second year together
with the creation of a beautiful quilted banner. The girls each girl contributed their own special patch. They
embroidered, appliqued, drew, painted, and embellished their patches with beads.

One of the troop moms then added the fabric to construct
the full banner. The troop proudly carried their banner at activities throughout the year, including their flag ceremony
at Tassajara Hills Elementary School's Bingo Night in January. The girls really enjoy having a banner they created together!
Thinking Day 2002 at Baldwin

On February 22, the Girl Scouts at John Baldwin
School celebrated Thinking Day with one another. Each troop chose a different country to represent in this schoolwide activity.

The girls learned a dance from India, made Mexican
tissue paper flowers and sang a song in French. After that, they munched on homemade pizza from Italy, Chinese
potstickers, and Mexican fiesta foods.
